Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Acous collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our websites, applications, communications services, and related products (collectively, the “Services”).

If an organization provides you access to Acous, that organization may control information processed through its workspace. Its own privacy notices may also apply.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account and profile details, such as your name, work email address, authentication information, organization, and preferences.
  • Communications content and related information, including calls, text messages, voicemail, notes, and files you choose to process through Acous.
  • Call recordings, transcriptions, and AI-generated outputs when those features are enabled and permitted by the applicable workspace policy and law.
  • Support requests, feedback, billing details, and information submitted through forms or integrations.

Information collected automatically

  • Device, browser, IP address, session, diagnostic, security, and product-usage information.
  • Communications metadata such as originating and destination numbers, timestamps, duration, delivery status, carrier information, and consent or opt-out events.
  • Information received from telecommunications providers, identity providers, connected applications, and other service providers needed to operate the Services.

How we use information

We use information to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Services; route and manage communications; authenticate users; generate requested call outcomes and summaries; deliver notifications; process transactions; provide support; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; and enforce our agreements.

Where Acous uses artificial intelligence, we use information to perform the feature requested by you or your organization, such as transcription, summarization, extraction of structured outcomes, and workflow assistance. Workspace controls, permissions, and retention settings continue to apply.

Mobile messaging privacy

When you text START to +1 (929) 725-3362, you consent to receive recurring, non-promotional account notifications and customer-care messages from Acous. Message frequency varies based on account activity and your interactions. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number, text messaging originator opt-in data, or SMS consent information to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We may provide mobile information to telecommunications carriers and service providers solely as needed to deliver messages, operate the program, protect the Services, or comply with law. They may not use that information for their own marketing.

How we share information

We may disclose information to:

  • Vendors and service providers that help us provide hosting, communications, identity, analytics, customer support, security, payment processing, and other operational services.
  • Your organization, workspace administrators, authorized users, and connected applications according to configured permissions and instructions.
  • Authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or respond to lawful process.
  • A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

We do not sell personal information for money. The mobile-messaging restrictions described above apply regardless of any other provision in this Policy.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, meet contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the Services. Retention may depend on workspace configuration, information type, and legal requirements.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or loss will never occur.

Your choices and rights

You can update certain account information and notification preferences in Acous. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information.

If Acous processes information for your organization, please submit your request to that organization first. You may also contact us using the address below.

Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for business users and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Services and applicable requirements change. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. We may provide additional notice when a change is material.
